Viking has announced its 2027 itineraries for voyages on the Mississippi River, which include two additional routes featuring stops along both the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
“Our guests, no matter their location, have a keen interest in the historical, cultural, and gastronomic aspects of the places they explore,” remarked Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking. “For many of our travelers, the towns and cities situated along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers are local gems—remarkable destinations that a lot of them have yet to unearth.”
The new routes feature a 15-day Bayous, Blues & Bluegrass journey that operates between New Orleans and Louisville, along with an eight-day Mississippi & Ohio River Explorer trip that spans from Memphis to Louisville. The longer voyage includes ports of call in Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky, while the shorter option covers destinations in Tennessee and Kentucky.
For those with a longer travel schedule, the 22-day Mississippi River Odyssey makes its way from New Orleans to St. Paul, navigating the entirety of the Mississippi River.
Travelers also have the choice of taking eight-day Lower (New Orleans to Memphis) or Upper (St. Louis to St. Paul) Mississippi journeys.
Lastly, an eight-day roundtrip option from New Orleans explores the Lower Mississippi, providing the convenience of a roundtrip flight.
All journeys are aboard the Viking Mississippi, a ship with 193 all-outside staterooms that showcases Viking’s renowned Scandinavian design.
