Qantas is set to make history by being the first airline to offer non-stop flights between Las Vegas and Australia, launching a Las Vegas-to-Sydney route this December.
The seasonal service, which is now ready for reservations, will operate three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, from December 29, 2026, to March 12, 2027. Economy round-trip fares start at $999 on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Australia’s trade and tourism minister, Don Farrell, described the new route as a significant victory for travelers from the U.S., simplifying their journey to Australia.
“The exchange of visitors between our nations has reached unprecedented levels,” Farrell commented. “In the past year, 745,000 Americans traveled to Australia, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming even more guests down under with the launch of these direct flights.”
Las Vegas now becomes the sixth city in the U.S. from which Qantas operates, alongside Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Dallas, and New York.
Steve Hill, the president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, highlighted that this new service demonstrates the robust demand from Australia for the city.
“Australia has long been our second-largest market overseas and is our premier international market lacking direct flights,” Hill stated. “Each year, over 250,000 Australians make the trip, attracted by the extensive range of experiences available in Las Vegas. We are thankful to Qantas for their collaboration and trust in our destination.”
Currently, Qantas operates charter flights in conjunction with the National Rugby League (NRL) from Australia’s East Coast to Las Vegas. These NRL flights have successfully operated for two years and are completely booked for the third consecutive year.
