Avoya Travel Network has appointed Mickey McBride, who has been with the company for over a decade, as its new sales vice president.
McBride joins an executive team spearheaded by CEO Phil Cappelli, who assumed leadership after the exit of previous CEO Marc Kazlauskas. Kazlauskas recently shifted to the supplier sector to take on the role of president at Norwegian Cruise Line. McBride’s selection is part of a strategic reorganization of Avoya’s executive tier and a “wider organizational transformation” aimed at fostering long-term achievement, as stated by a spokesperson to TMR.
“Mickey’s enhanced role underscores our dedication to maintaining robust performance, improved advisor support, and persistent innovation within the Avoya Advisor Network,” the organization expressed in a statement on Thursday.
Since May 2013, McBride has been part of Avoya, beginning his journey as a business development manager. Over the last 13 years, he has occupied various leadership roles, such as director of sales planning, director of partner engagement, AVP of strategic alliances, and most recently, vice president of partnerships.
In his updated position, McBride works alongside Cappelli and Karl Treier, the chief technology officer of Avoya, who joined the company last year.
This promotion arrives as Avoya embarks on its first full year of operations after the departure of the Anderson family. The long-time proprietors of the host agency completely divested their stake to Certares Inc. in 2025, following the private equity firm acquiring partial ownership in 2021. Certares has a strong presence in the industry, with stakes and investments in Internova Travel Group, LATAM Airlines, and various global hospitality entities.
