Bahia Principe Hotels has revealed plans for renovations and reopening schedules for two of its hotels in Jamaica that were affected by Hurricane Melissa last October.
Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway has completed several upgrades and is set to welcome guests back on April 1, while a more extensive refurbishment is ongoing at the adjacent Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica, which will reopen on Dec. 1.
Upon reopening, the properties will provide enhanced dining options, improved public areas, and various amenities. In particular, Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway will feature a larger lobby terrace and a newly decorated lobby bar. The dining venues—including the main JazmÃn buffet, Picasso Mediterranean eatery, and Thali Indian restaurant—will undergo complete renovations.
Additional information regarding the renovations at Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica is expected to be shared in the upcoming months. These updates represent the most recent hotel transformations in Jamaica following last year’s storm, as Princess Resorts and Eclipse at Half Moon have also recently confirmed their reopening.
