Holland America Line has introduced nearly 30 voyages for the 2027/28 season, encompassing destinations such as Hawaii, Mexico, the Pacific Coast, and the Panama Canal. This upcoming season emphasizes extended visits in Honolulu and deeper exploration of Mexico’s Sea of Cortez.
Travelers can embark on these adventures aboard Koningsdam, Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, and Zaandam, with journeys operating from October to April from five different North American ports.
“Whether our guests are looking to bask in the Hawaiian sun or are drawn to the unspoiled, natural wonders of the Great Bear Rainforest, this season offers a diverse array of experiences for every type of traveler,” stated Paul Grigsby, the vice president of itinerary planning and deployment for Holland America Line.
“In each unique area, visitors can engage with the experiences that animate these locales — whether that involves discovering the significance of island customs via Hawaii Up Close, identifying some of the 300 bird species found in Tortuguero National Park, or savoring dishes inspired by local cuisine…”
Hawaii Itineraries
The 2027/28 Hawaii schedule includes prolonged stays in Honolulu, as well as visits to famous natural landmarks such as Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, black-sand beaches, and much more. Travelers can take pleasure in Hawaii Up Close cultural experiences — covering topics from agricultural practices and local lore to indigenous artistry and geology — in addition to stargazing, luaus, and genuine island-themed entertainment.
Choices include several sailings of the 17- or 18-day Circle Hawaii itineraries available on Koningsdam or Zaandam. All routes include stops at Nawiliwili, Kauai; Honolulu; Kahului, Maui; and Kona and Hilo on the Big Island. Selected itineraries feature overnight and up to 40 hours in Honolulu, in addition to visits to Ensenada, Mexico.
Panama Canal Sailings
Itineraries that pass through or visit the Panama Canal span from 14 to 22 days, providing travelers with a close-up experience of the Gatun, Pedro Miguel, and Miraflores Locks. Voyages afford access to UNESCO World Heritage sites, Mayan archaeological sites, sloth refuges, volcano hikes, and cultural experiences along the Central American coast. Options include sailings from Fort Lauderdale or Miami to San Diego (or vice versa), as well as from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Lauderdale to Vancouver.
West Coast Mexico Cruises
Cruises to Mexico offer an extensive selection of entry points, ranging from quick getaways in warm climates to thorough explorations of Baja and the Sea of Cortez. Sailings last from five to 12 days, with the majority – though not exclusively – operating roundtrip from San Diego. Likely ports of call include Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Ensenada, Loreto, Pichilingue (La Paz), and Manzanillo, along with other less-visited ports on the Baja Peninsula.
Pacific Coast Itineraries
The Pacific Coast season features voyages lasting from one to seven days and reintroduces the popular Great Bear Rainforest itinerary, which will operate roundtrip from Vancouver in 2028. These itineraries showcase the fjord-like waterways of British Columbia, along with stops throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
For clients on the West Coast who are curious about trying a cruise, a one-day option is available aboard Eurodam, departing from Seattle to Vancouver on October 2, 2027.
