After the completion of Hajj 2025, the e-visa and Umrah visa services in Saudi Arabia have been reopened. Travelers who qualify can again utilize the visa-on-arrival option, and block work visa allocations are back in place. Officials have also issued a stern warning regarding severe repercussions for exceeding visa validity.

Saudi Arabia has reopened its e-visa platform for international tourists and Umrah pilgrims following the successful conclusion of the 2025 Hajj. This announcement from the Saudi Tourism Authority signifies the reestablishment of travel opportunities to one of the most frequented destinations in the Middle East.

E-Visa Services Begin Again on June 10

Starting from June 10, 2025, eligible visitors can once again apply for Saudi e-visas online via the official visa platform. This reinstated service simplifies entry into the Kingdom for tourists, Umrah devotees, and participants of various events.

The resumption follows the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which had over 1.6 million pilgrims from upwards of 150 nations partake in the sacred event. The concluding farewell tawaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah officially marked the end of this year's pilgrimage.

Visa-on-Arrival Facilities Also Restored

Along with the e-visa service, Saudi Arabia has brought back the visa-on-arrival option available at all primary entry points. Travellers fulfilling the following criteria can take advantage of this:

  • Possess a valid Schengen, UK, or US visit visa
  • Are long-term residents of the US, UK, or EU

This initiative is anticipated to boost the number of international visitors, particularly with significant events like the Esports World Cup in Riyadh and a lively schedule of summer festivals, beach getaways, and cultural activities.

Umrah Visa Applications Have Also Restarted

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that the issuance of Umrah visas recommenced on June 10. Entry into Makkah has also been permitted starting from June 11 for individuals possessing valid travel and religious documentation.

The revival of Umrah services follows a temporary halt on visa issuance prior to the Hajj season. To manage crowd control, Saudi authorities had suspended all visa applications, including for tourists, family visits, and Umrah, since April 13, 2025.

Saudi Arabia Reopens Block Work Visa Quota

In another update, Saudi Arabia has reinstated its block work visa quotas for the employment of foreign labour. This is an essential development for employers and job seekers, particularly in sectors that depend heavily on expatriate workers like construction, hospitality, and healthcare.

Recruiters and firms can now resume applications for new work permits that had been on hold earlier this year during the Hajj preparations. This action aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives to harmonize domestic employment with foreign expertise.

Visas and Entry Permits Resume After Hajj 2025

Following the wrap-up of Hajj 2025, Saudi Arabia has revived various visa categories, facilitating smoother access for tourists, pilgrims, laborers, and visitors to enter the Kingdom once again.

  • Umrah Visas – Available for pilgrims starting June 10
  • Business Visit Visas – Issuance has resumed for qualified professionals
  • Family Visit Visas – Applications are being accepted again after a brief suspension
  • Tourist Visas – Granted in selective circumstances; the e-visa system is operational
  • e-Visa – Fully functional for qualified nationalities
  • Visa-On-Arrival – Restored for holders of US, UK, or Schengen visas or residency
  • Block Work Visa Quota – Recruitment quota has reopened for firms hiring foreign employees

Severe Warning on Visa Overstays

Saudi authorities have issued a stern warning to all international travellers concerning visa overstays. Those who exceed their authorized stay will encounter fines, deportation, and future bans on entry.

The government is tightening regulations as part of a comprehensive immigration reform and border management strategy. All visitors are strongly urged to verify their visa expiry dates and adhere strictly to exit timelines.

Importance for Travellers

With the visa portal operational and enhanced options like visa-on-arrival available, this is an excellent time to explore Saudi Arabia. Whether planning an Umrah pilgrimage, a vacation, or attending a major event, the country is enthusiastically welcoming international guests.

Nonetheless, adhering to visa requirements is essential. Tourists should keep track of their permitted duration of stay to avert any legal issues that may affect future travels.

In Conclusion

The reopening of e-visas and Umrah applications in Saudi Arabia marks a significant effort to revitalize tourism post-Hajj 2025. With the visa-on-arrival option back for specific nationalities and the restoration of work visa quotas, the Kingdom is inviting guests across religious, leisure, and professional sectors. Just remember to comply with regulations; overstaying might lead to serious consequences.
