Hurtigruten is branching out from its classic Norwegian coastal signature journeys by introducing three innovative “Limited Collection” itineraries for the 2027/28 season. These new choices will transport travelers to “a more remote and hard-to-access Norway,” visiting regions within the high Arctic and renowned western fjords that are unreachable by other cruise lines.
This marks the first occasion where the cruise line will present new 12- or 11-day itineraries that either commence or conclude in Copenhagen, Denmark. This change aims to provide more convenient flight alternatives to and from North America, with the route connecting Copenhagen to Tromsø.
(Hurtigruten notes that the capital of Denmark boasts up to 16 direct flight options from both Canada and the U.S.)
Sailing between April 2027 and May 2028 on the MS Trollfjord, the novel Signature itineraries present extended stays of generally nine to 15 hours in lesser-known ports – featuring newly added destinations like Rosendal, Skjolden, and Eidfjord close to Bergen, often referred to as the heart of Fjord Norway – alongside flexible sailing schedules that empower captains to adapt each voyage based on daily weather conditions, ensuring the most breathtaking scenery and wildlife sightings.
The trio of “Limited Collection” itineraries includes:
Inner Fjords Explorer: This is Hurtigruten’s inaugural fjord-exclusive journey and its most immersive experience. Operating in the spring and autumn, this eight-day expedition departs from Bergen to explore four western fjords: Lysefjord, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord, and Nordfjord. Initial prices start at $2,254 per person.
Arctic Circle Explorer: This is an eight-day roundtrip winter journey originating from Tromsø, which immerses participants entirely within the Arctic Circle. Key attractions comprise Lofoten, Alta, and Honningsvåg, with an optional side tour to the North Cape and an overnight stay in Alta. The adaptable sailing itinerary is ideal for witnessing the Northern Lights. Prices begin at $2,829 per person.
The Arctic Line: This winter voyage spans either 12 days Northbound or 11 days Southbound, navigating between Copenhagen and Tromsø. Following the coastline of Norway, the route features Lofoten, the North Cape, and overnight stops in Alta and Tromsø, with a maximum of seven days spent beneath the auroral oval, enhancing chances to see the Northern Lights. Prices start from $3,379 per person.
“With the ongoing remarkable demand for travel to Norway and increasing interest in this remarkable destination, Hurtigruten is offering more thrilling opportunities for North Americans to discover this stunning country,” commented Carly Biggart, Head of Hurtigruten Americas. “Introducing Copenhagen as a new port for the Arctic Line will simplify the process of combining a cruise with a visit to one of Europe’s most attractive cities.”
To commemorate the debut, guests who book by April 30, 2026, will earn up to $500 in onboard credits for each cabin.
